Fortunately, by this time of year most of the woodland creatures were grown-up enough to fly or scamper away to the adjacent wooded edges. [Not to fear, little critters! By next spring, there will be all sorts of beautiful landscaping and birdhouses for your new homes.]
Trees were cut, stacked and chipped for composting into mulch.

Barnside Veterinary Hospital, of Route 33 Howell, NJ, celebrated its ground-breaking in style! Dr. Meredith Weltner-Sharin with her husband Michael dug a ceremonial spadeful of dirt from the veterinary hospital's future site, while family and friends cheered on. Howell Township planning board unanimously granted approval to Barnside Veterinary Hospital!5/25/2006
Barnside Veterinary Hospital, a state-of-the art veterinary hospital, was granted approval by the Howell Township planning board. The aesthetically pleasing barn facade and elegantly agrarian site-plan were among the many facets for which the board had praise. The hospital will be located on Route 33, east of Colt’s Neck Rd.
Dr. Meredith Weltner-Sharin, a 1997 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, is thrilled to be part of Howell’s rural heritage and future development. Barnside is a full-service veterinary facility, serving primarily small animals (dogs and cats) and pocket pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, etc).
