DENTISTRY: Ability to perform dental duties while ensuring overall health and stability of anesthetized patients. Application of orovet, doxirobe gel and other similar dental products. Understanding of overall dental health as it relates to systemic health. Knowledge of prescriptions diets and general nutrition. ISOLATION: Knowledge and understanding of infectious and contagious diseases and zoonotic diseases Ability to implement and enforce isolation room protocols appropriate for the disease state. ICU/POST-OP/HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS: Thorough knowledge of basic diseases and conditions, standard progression of surgical patients. DATA ENTRY: “Attaching” in with appropriate “tags” various scanned documents and medical forms. Requires familiarity and competence with basic computer skills, attention to detail, ability to follow protocols.
GROOMER:
Position available for professional groomer with good people and media skills. Must be comfortable working with both dogs and cats.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Appropriate time/schedule management.
Basic baths and grooming; breed appropriate styles and grooming; dematting/shave-downs.
Ability to diplomatically balance client’s desires vs reality of coat care and pet’s needs.
Comfort and skill with computers and digital cameras.
Bring medical issues to attention of technician, veterinarian and client (ear, eye, skin infections, lumps, dental disease, etc).
Ability to safely handle mildly aggressive animals.
Ability to safely handle mildly sedated animals; and willingness to work with technician staff for grooming of aggressive animals under anesthesia.
